About the Role:

The Manager, Revenue Accounting is a new role at Demandbase and is a player/coach role and will oversee two employees. The position reports to the Director of Revenue. This is a remote position and we’re considering candidates who live anywhere in the United States.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and process customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
  • Prepare revenue flux and Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analysis for management review
  • Maintain, review and update Order to Cash controls
  • Partner with the Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Product, Professional Service and Ad Operations teams to ensure that all revenue transactions are accounted for in accordance with Demandbase’s Revenue policy
  • Support ad hoc projects, including systems implementation, acquisitions and process improvements related to revenue processes
  • Prepare technical memos for revenue, accounts receivable, bad debt, reserves, etc, and serve as subject matter expert in these areas
  • Manage month-end accounting close process including but not limited to: journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and related accounts on a monthly basis, among others as well as related reconciliations
  • Support audit deliverables and help coordinate with auditors during the year-end/quarterly audits

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 1+ years as a successful people manager with 2 or more direct reports
  • Proven history of hiring and retaining employees
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Experience with Netsuite or other large financial systems
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and CPA preferred

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities, ensuring timelines and deadlines are consistently met
  • Leadership skills with an ability and desire to manage an international (India) team to help execute the key responsibilities of your function.
  • Desire to mentor and coach your direct reports
