Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Group Comptroller (GC). The GC will primarily collaborate with the Owner/Managing Director to structure and administer the financial systems, record keeping and controls of the rapidly growing business as well as have oversight responsibilities of the other companies in the group. The ideal candidate will be required to travel extensively; be a hands-on, energetic and organized professional with extensive experience in accounting systems and control.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Managing the companies’ financial transactions
  • Developing plans for the companies’ financial growth inclusive of cash flow projections
  • Developing and administering the companies’ internal controls
  • Executing full cycle accounting, ensuring the proper accounting functions of the day to day with a focus on cost accounting, managing raw material and finished goods inventories
  • Optimizing the accounting and MIS systems
  • Preparing the company’s financial reports
  • Overseeing the budgeting process
  • Managing the companies’ accounting employees
  • Providing financial training to employees when needed
  • Evaluating and managing financial risks
  • Various related tasks as assigned by the Owner/Managing Director

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Management or an MBA would be preferred.
  • A recognized professional accounting designation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior accounting/finance position.
  • Experience in a Supervisory/Management role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, Spanish speaking skills would be an asset.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Computer savvy with a proven ability to use QuickBooks, Fishbowl, Excel, Word and other office software.
  • Solid foundation in internal controls.
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
